Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Daphne tangutica is a medium-sized evergreen shrub with clusters of purple buds crowding the tips of each branch, opening to reveal star-shaped, white flowers with a reddish purple flush on the outside. The collection of blooms produced in summer have a wonderful scent and are followed by rounded red fruits as the flowers fade. With a compact habit and dark green, oblong leaves, this Daphne is perfect for even the smallest borders, ideally close to a path or doorway where the scent can be fully appreciated every time you pass. Height and spread: 100cm (39").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Flowering Months
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established, Daphne bushes require only occasional attention. Pruning Daphne is best kept to a minimum, removing only occasional damaged stems and lightly trimming those that spoil the shape of the plant in summer after flowering.
Caution: Irritant to skin and eyes. Toxic if eaten. Grow Daphne shrubs in moist, fertile, well drained soil that is rich in organic matter. Choose a position in sun or semi shade. When growing in containers use a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Daphne plants resent root disturbance so try to avoid this when transplanting as this may delay plant establishment.
