Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
One of the most graceful perennial plants, Dierama produces clumps of tall grass-like, semi-evergreen foliage topped with a profusion of arching flower stems in July and August. The white bell-shaped flowers of Dierama argyreum drip from incredibly delicate stems, swaying and nodding in the slightest breeze. As autumn arrives the seed heads make an attractive architectural feature in the border. Wonderful for cottage gardens, gravel gardens and herbaceous borders, Angel's Fishing Rod is the perfect partner to ornamental grasses. Height: 100cm (39"). Spread: 45cm (18"). Supplied in a 9cm pot.

Gradually acclimatise Dierama plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Grow Dierama in rich, fertile, well drained soil, in full sun. Angel’s Fishing Rod particularly resents wet soil in winter. Prior to planting, improve heavy soils by incorporating plenty of well-rotted manure or compost. Plant Angel's Fishing Rod plants at the same level as they were in the pot and firm in, watering well to settle the soil.
Water Dierama plants regularly until fully established. In spring, cut back faded Dierama flowers and stems. Large established clumps of Angel’s Fishing Rod can be lifted and divided in spring but this should only be carried out occasionally as they resent disturbance and are slow to re-establish.
