Flowering Months

Although dill is deep rooted and can survive in dry soils it is preferable to keep dill plants well watered as dill can quickly run to flower if grown in dry conditions. Dill leaves can be harvested as and when required, or cut all in one go and dried for later use.

Culinary note: Dill is excellent in salads and soups. Dill leaves can replace parsley, tarragon and mint in sauces.

Pot up Dill plants and grow them on until plants are well established and all risk of frost has passed. Gradually acclimatise dill plants to outdoor conditions over 7 – 10 days before planting outdoors on well drained soil in full sun.
