Erica carnea f. alba 'Snow Queen' features large white urn-shaped flowers that contrast perfectly with the dark evergreen foliage. This low spreading shrub blooms abundantly from late winter through to spring; a perfect source of nectar for pollinating insects. This Heather variety makes an excellent low maintenance ground cover plant, as well as being perfectly suited to beds, borders, containers and rockeries. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Unlike some heathers, Erica carnea cultivars are lime tolerant and will grow equally well in almost any garden soil. Grow Erica carnea in well-drained soil in full sun. When growing in containers, use a good quality soil-based potting mix.

During the growing season, water Erica plants regularly and feed with a half-strength liquid fertiliser every 4 weeks. After flowering, trim Heathers with shears to remove faded blooms and promote bushy growth.
