Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Forsythia is well known for its abundant display of bright yellow flowers in spring, ushering in the season with its cheerful colour. Forsythia koreana 'Kumsum' now adds an extra dimension to this hardy shrub with striking two coloured leaves. Magnificent silver veins thread their way across each leaf in perfect symmetry, bringing further interest into your garden when the flowers have faded away. A perfect addition to any shrub border, or ideal as a stand-alone specimen to really show off its foliage. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread 150cm (59").

Culinary note: The blossoms are edible raw, though they can be slightly bitter. The will add colour to salads and are a cheery garnish. For more details about edible flowers click here.

1 x 9cm Potted Plant (KB1223)

Grow Forsythia plants in moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade.
Feed and water Forsythia plants regularly until fully established. Container grown plants will require annual dressing with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser and regular watering throughout the summer months. Border grown plants will require less attention. In late spring after flowering has finished, prune Forsythia by cutting back all flowered shoots to a healthy pair of leaves. On established Forsythia plants, cut back up to a fifth of the oldest shoots to their base, to encourage healthy new growth and improve flowering. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning.
