A dwarf variety with a neat compact habit that makes the perfect choice for smaller gardens and patio containers. Bright, golden blooms fill the bare, branching stems of this deciduous shrub from early March, when a splash of colour is long overdue after the dark winter months. Forsythia x intermedia 'Nimbus' becomes cloaked in mid-green foliage during summer before turning to orange and gold in autumn. A delightful variety with a long season of interest. Height and spread: 75cm (30").

Grow Forsythia plants in moist, well drained soil in full sun or semi-shade.
Feed and water Forsythia plants regularly until fully established. Prune Forsythia plants in late spring after flowering. Cut back all flowered shoots to a healthy pair of leaves. On established Forsythia plants, cut back up to a fifth of the oldest shoots to their base, to encourage healthy new growth and improve flowering. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or other organic matter around the base of the plant after pruning.
