Compact Fuchsia ‘Bella Evita’ is covered in a mass of attractive blooms for weeks from early summer until late autumn. The flower buds are pinky-red, opening to reveal petals of white, delicately streaked with the same pinky-red. This small fuchsia works well on its own in a small pot on a table outside, or in the mix with other plants in window boxes or patio planters. Height: 40cm (16"). Spread: 45cm (18"). Supplied as plug plants.

Culinary information: Add the beautiful coloured flowers to salads, crystallise them for a sweet garnish or add them to jellies for an extra splash of colour. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Pot up plugs and grow them on in warm frost free conditions until large enough to transplant into final containers or baskets. Pinch out the growing points where stems have more than 2 sets of leaves, while the plants are still small. This will encourage the plants to produce more stems, making a bushier plant with more flowers. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise fuchsia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Choose a sunny or semi shaded site for their final position.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded fuchsia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced
