It’s a little known fact that the berries of Fuchsias are edible, although not particularly tasty. Fuchsia 'Fuchsiaberry' changes all that having been specially bred for its flavoursome, large, sweet berries that are crammed with nutrients and vitamin C. The juicy dark fruits are borne in profusion - up to 300 berries per plant, with a rich flavour reminiscent of fig and kiwi.

Like all fuchsias, it's pretty red and purple flowers make an eye-catching and long lasting display. Better still, this unique Fuchsia will keep flowering even once it starts to produce berries, giving you a hardworking plant that is both productive and ornamental.

Fuchsia 'Fuchsiaberry' is a half-hardy shrub that will continue producing fruit in successive years if protected in a frost free position over winter. Perfect for brightening up allotments, garden borders or large patio containers. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Culinary note: Add the beautiful coloured flowers to salads, crystallise them for a sweet garnish or add them to jellies for an extra splash of colour. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant fuchsias into light, well-drained soil in sun or part shade. When growing in containers, use a quality, well drained compost such as John Innes No.3. Pinch out the growing tips of your fuchsia plants once, to promote bushier growth and more flowers.
Feed and water plants regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded fuchsiaberry flowers in place to allow the fruits to be produced. Fuchsia ‘Fuchsiaberry’ is a half-hardy shrub that will continue producing fruit in successive years if protected in a frost free position over winter. Prune stems back to a low permanent framework in spring.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
