Flowering Months
When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise fuchsia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. For their final position choose a sunny or semi shaded site. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
Pot up Fuchsia plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in warm frost free conditions until large enough to transplant into final containers or baskets. Pinch out the growing points where stems have more than 2 sets of leaves, while the plants are still small. This will encourage the plants to produce more stems, making a bushier plant with more flowers. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise fuchsia plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Choose a sunny or semi shaded site for their final position.
