Gerberas are unmistakeable for their classic daisy blooms and punchy colours. This variety is a free flowering, tender perennial which has been specially developed for the patio. Gerbera jamesonii 'Orange County' produces eye-popping, bright orange flowers throughout summer. The wide blooms are borne upon sturdy, clear stems creating the simple, clean lines that make this such a good cut flower! Each large, green leaf has a jagged edge, forming a rounded clump of foliage in borders and containers. Perfect for creating a bold patio display or planting in sunny borders to bring a contemporary twist to your summer bedding schemes. Height and spread: 45cm (18").

1 x 7cm potted gerbera plant (KB3072)

Pot up gerbera plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions. Plant gerberas outdoors in fertile, well drained soil in sheltered, sunny borders. When growing gerbera in patio containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2.
Feed and water gerbera regularly throughout the growing season. These Gerbera are hardy outdoors if grown in a sheltered position and provided with winter protection during particularly cold periods. In particularly cold areas it is preferable to grow gerbera plants in containers that can be moved to a frost free position during winter.
