Just like a giant Muscari flower - but double the size! Although remarkably similar to Grape Hyacinths, these unusual Spring bulbs are a different species entirely. Bellevalia bulbs produce upright stems from March to May, carrying stout cones of little bell shaped flowers above clumps of strap-like foliage. Bellevalia ‘Massimo’ combines a lovely pairing of blue and white blooms that make a fabulous sight in patio containers or planted en masse in borders and rockeries. These striking hardy bulbs are low maintenance, easy to grow and make an eye-catching cut flower. Height: 30cm (5"). Spread: 12cm (2").

These Giant Muscari plants prefer a sunny position on any well drained soil. Plant Bellevalia bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4") and a distance of 5cm (2") apart. The maximum impact, grow Bellevalia in large groups.
After flowering, the foliage of Bellevalia should be left to die back naturally, thereby feeding the bulb for the following year. Avoid watering over the summer months to provide Giant Grape Hyacinths with the dry, dormant period that they need. Overcrowded clumps can be lifted and divided in summer during dormancy.
