Growing Gerberas outdoors was virtually inconceivable ten years ago. Now these 2nd generation hardy Gerberas can be grown year round in the border! Gerbera 'Sweet Collection' produces plenty of classic daisy blooms that are twice the size of other hardy Gerberas, and make fabulous cut flowers. Blooming reliably from June to October, these wonderful clump forming hardy perennials make a big impact in borders and patio containers. Height and spread: 45cm (18").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Feed and water gerbera regularly throughout the growing season. These Gerbera are hardy outdoors if grown in a sheltered position and provided with winter protection during particularly cold periods. In particularly cold areas it is preferable to grow gerbera plants in containers that can be moved to a frost free position during winter.
Pot up gerbera plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions. Plant gerberas outdoors in fertile, well drained soil in sheltered, sunny borders. When growing gerbera in patio containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2.
