Heleniums are stars of the late summer herbaceous border, bringing a splash of vibrant colour with their bright daisy-like blooms. This collection comprises three fresh, new varieties - ‘Fuego’, Salsa’ and ‘Sombrero', each with a neat, compact habit. These perennial plants will perk up faded borders from August to October. Selected for their strong stems, bushy growth and phenomenal flower power, these dazzling Heleniums are ideal for sunny borders and wildlife gardens where they will attract pollinating insects. They make excellent cut flowers too! Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Helenium prefers a sunny position on reliably moist soil that is rich in organic matter. Add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil to improve its structure and fertility prior to planting.
Feed and water plants regularly until they are fully established. Deadhead faded helenium flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Divide overcrowded clumps of helenium in spring and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant.
