Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Freckled pink double blooms with elegant pointed petals make for an eye-catching show during the early season. Hellebore ‘Carnaval' is easy to grow and low maintenance, thriving in most conditions including sun or partial shade, but it’s happiest in a dappled shade position where it’ll blend in comfortably with a woodland-style planting scheme. Evergreen palm-shaped leaves provide texture to a planting space throughout the year, also acting as a compact ground cover. Produces multiple blooms from January onwards which not only act as a highlight in the spring garden, they’re also a valuable source of nectar for bumblebees. Height: 35cm (14"). Spread: 35cm (14").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

1 x 14cm Potted Plant (KF3740)

Pot up hellebore plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant hellebores in neutral or alkaline soil, in dappled shade. Hellebores prefer a moist, humus rich, fertile soil that does not dry out in summer or sit waterlogged in winter. When growing hellebores on heavy clay or free draining gravel soils, add plenty of well rotted leaf mould or other organic matter to the soil prior to planting.
Water regularly until established. Mulch hellebores with well rotted manure or garden compost each spring. Hellebores resent disturbance after planting and may take some time to re-establish. However when clumps become overcrowded, lifting and dividing of hellebores should be undertaken immediately after flowering. Caution: Hellebore sap may irritate the skin and eyes. All parts are harmful if eaten.
