Hellebore ‘Single Gold Red' is enchanting with single flowers in two contrasting shades. Also known as the Christmas Rose, it's perfect for winter colour and interest in your borders when planted in the shade beneath trees and shrubs.

The pretty, cup-shaped flowers will make an early appearance and along with their evergreen foliage, will compliment snowdrops and early spring bulbs. Clump-forming Hellebores are ideal for planting in long, mixed borders of perennials as well in patio containers. Height and spread: 45cm (18").

Water regularly until established. Cut back old foliage in spring after flowering and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plants. Try not to disturb hellebore plants after planting as they may take some time to re-establish. If necessary, move plants in the autumn.
Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten. Grow hellebores in a dappled or semi shade position in fertile, moist, well drained soil. Hellebore plants prefer neutral or alkaline soil. Add well rotted garden manure or other organic matter to improve very heavy clay or free-draining sandy soils.
