Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

From mid to late summer, Hemerocallis 'Frans Hals' provides a continuous succession of exotic, trumpet-shaped blooms.

It’s one of the most distinctive bicolour varieties, the flowers composed of three orange-red outer petals and three golden yellow ones. It’s a striking combination that cuts a dash in late summer borders, associating beautifully with crocosmia and ornamental grasses.

You can always rely on Hemerocallis to perform – they quickly bulk up into clumps of strappy foliage and are healthy plants, rarely troubled by pest or disease. Although individual flowers only last a day, they are freely produced in quick succession creating a high-impact display. Height: 70cm (28in). Spread: 50cm (20in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Plant dayliles in moist, well drained, fertile soil in full sun. Growing hemerocallis plants in dry soils or shaded conditions may reduce the number of flowers produced.
For the best performance keep day lily plants well watered whilst they are in flower and deadhead faded daylily flowers regularly. In autumn remove any old, ragged foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost around the base of daylily plants.
