Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
The Congo Cockatoo or Parrot Plant is a rare and much sought-after tropical perennial - that happens to be easy to grow. Its unusual flowers dangle happily all over the plant, like little tropical birds! It likes warm and humid conditions and can go outdoors somewhere shaded on the patio or decking from May onwards, until the weather cools. Alternatively keep Impatiens niamniamensis indoors as a spectacular and interesting conservatory plant! Height: 90cm (36"), Spread: 50cm (20").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Flowering Months
Water frequently to maintain evenly moist compost. Avoid leaving the Parrot Plant in standing water as this may cause it to rot. During the summer months, this Impatiens may be moved to a sheltered, lightly shaded position on the patio. Return it to its position indoors by the end of summer, and well before the first frosts. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to dry out completely. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth.
Impatiens niamniamensis enjoys a brightly lit spot with some protection from direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day in summer. This tender perennial requires a minimum temperature of 10C (50F) but prefers a warmer position of around 15C (60F) to 24C (75F).
