10 Bare Root Iris Plants (V56937P)

When growing Juno Irises, allow their foliage to die back naturally before removing it. This will help to feed the bulb and ensure another display next spring. Divide overcrowded clumps of Iris bucharica bulbs in early autumn, taking care not to damage the fleshy roots. Keep Iris in containers just moist during their dormant period in summer and resume watering as new growth appears. Feed containerised Juno Irises with a high-potash fertiliser after flowering.
Caution: Irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten. Plant Iris bucharica bulbs at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Take care not to damage the fleshy roots of Juno Irises when planting. Choose a sunny position in free draining, neutral to alkaline soil, and plant Iris bucharica at a depth of approximately twice their own height and 10-15cm (4-6") apart. Amend heavy clay soils with plenty of grit and well rotted garden compost prior to planting. Alternatively plant Iris bucharica in deep containers of loam-based compost such as John Innes No.2 and grow them on in a cold greenhouse.
