Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. When growing Dutch iris, allow their foliage to die back naturally before removing it. This will help to feed the bulb and ensure another display next spring. Divide overcrowded clumps of bulbs in autumn.
Prior to planting Hazelnut trees, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Cobnut trees at the same soil level as they were growing at the nursery, and water well to settle the soil.
Dutch iris bulbs should be planted outdoors in autumn. Choose a sunny position in free draining soil, and plant irises at a depth of approximately 10cm (4") and 15cm (6") apart. Amend heavy clay soils with plenty of grit and well rotted garden compost prior to planting. Dutch irises look particularly eye-catching when grown as drifts in borders, or scattered among herbaceous perennial borders.
