Helping to extend the colour season in your garden, Lychnis viscaria 'Splendens Plena' is an early summer variety that bears panicles of magenta pink blooms on sticky, branchless stems, held above clusters of slender, straight foliage. This low growing Campion variety is a vibrant addition to waterside plantings, moist rockeries and bog gardens. A striking but under-used choice, this hardy perennial holds an RHS AGM for its garden performance. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Lychnis viscaria enjoys a sunny or semi shaded position on fertile, well drained soil that remains reliably moist in summer. It will also thrive on clay soils, damp or boggy areas and planting around the edges of ponds.

Deadhead faded Lychnis flowers regularly to prolong flowering and prevent unwanted seedlings. In autumn, cut back the old foliage and faded flower stems to just above ground level to make way for new growth in the spring.
