Flowering Months
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Morning Glory plants are frost tender, so in winter move container-grown plants to a bright, frost-free position with a minimum temperature of 7°C (45°F). Alternatively grow them in a cool conservatory.
Caution: toxic if eaten. Repot Ipomoea plants into a slightly larger container and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside. Once they are well grown, acclimatise morning glory plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting them directly into sunny, well drained borders, against a sheltered fence or wall. Alternatively grow morning glory in patio containers, using soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Attach the twining stems with soft ties to a suitable climbing support. Water well to settle the soil.
