1 x 7cm Potted Plant (KB2082)

Pot up gerbera plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions. Plant gerberas outdoors in fertile, well drained soil in sheltered, sunny borders. When growing gerbera in patio containers, use a loam based compost such as John Innes No.2.
Feed and water gerbera plants regularly throughout the growing season. Cut back faded gerbera flowers from the base of the stem. In autumn, move containers of gerbera to a bright, frost free position for the winter. Reduce watering, keeping the compost just moist during winter months. Gerbera plants will require winter protection if grown in borders outdoors.
