Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Ornithogalum nutans is of similar build to a Bluebell but far less commonly seen in UK gardens. In late spring the starry, silvery blooms rise upon upright stems above clumps of delicately striped foliage. The flowers are sweetly scented and nod demurely downwards giving this bulb it’s common name of Drooping Star of Bethlehem. A lovely choice for naturalising in the garden alongside other spring bulbs. The flowers can be cut for an interesting addition to spring posies! Height: 45cm (18”). Spread: 10cm (4”).

10 Bulbs (KC1331)

Plant Ornithogalum bulbs in any moist, well drained soil in full sun. Plant bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4”) and 10cm (4”) apart. For natural looking drifts of Star of Bethlehem flowers, gently cast them across the planting area and plant them where they land!
Water bulbs if necessary until they are fully established. When growing Ornithogalum, it is essential to allow the foliage to die back naturally as this will feed the bulb for the following year. Where bulbs are naturalised in grass, avoid mowing the area until their foliage has died back.

Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
