Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
Suppress your weeds with a densely planted carpet of vibrant African Daisies. This collection of hardy Osteospermums are some of the easiest ground cover plants you can grow. Once established these versatile, resilient perennials are happy in hot, dry, neglected conditions, and are particularly useful for tricky coastal sites. Famed for their long flowering period, Osteospermums bloom from June right through to October. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 60cm (24"). Supplied in 50mm plugs.
  • Collection comprises of these three varieties:
  • Osteospermum 'Snow Pixie' - A perfect contrast to its purple-pink coloured cousins, sporting clean, white petals with a golden yellow eye.
  • Osteospermum 'Tresco Purple' - Bold pink daisy flowers open every morning to greet the sun.
  • Osteospermum jucundum var. compactum - Irrepressibly cheerful, bright pink daisy flowers smother carpets of low growing foliage.

9 osteospermum plug plants - 3 of each (KB5983)
18 plug plants - 6 of each (V11836)

Pot up Osteospermum plug plants into 11cm pots and grow them on in warm frost free conditions for transplanting into borders, beds and containers later on.
When all risk of frost has passed, and plugs are fully rooted into their pots, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Osteospermum in any well drained soil in full sun. In particularly cold areas, African Daises are best grown in a sheltered position. Feed and water regularly. Deadhead faded African Daisy flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Weed between plants until they are established.
