Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
These superb African daisies are some of the easiest ground cover plants you can grow and they’re hardy too, so you can enjoy them year after year! Cheerful blooms in shades of pink and white are borne in profusion above low-growing carpets of foliage. Once established this versatile, resilient perennial is happy in hot, dry, neglected conditions, and is particularly useful for coastal gardens. The large daisy blooms of these Osteospermums appear over an incredibly long flowering period, from June right through to October. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 60cm (24"). Supplied as plug plants.
  • Collection comprises:
  • Osteospermum 'Snow Pixie' - Pure white flower with yellow centres.
  • Osteospermum jucundum var. compactum - Mauve-pink flowers with yellow centres.
  • Osteospermum 'Tresco Purple' - Bright purple flowers with dark purple centres.

Culinary information: The bright coloured flowers can be used as a garnish or in ice cubes to add an extra dimension to summer drinks. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Flowering Months
When all risk of frost has passed, and plugs are fully rooted into their pots, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Osteospermum in any well drained soil in full sun. In particularly cold areas, African Daises are best grown in a sheltered position. Feed and water regularly. Deadhead faded African Daisy flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Weed between plants until they are established.
Pot up Osteospermum plug plants into 11cm pots and grow them on in warm frost free conditions for transplanting into borders, beds and containers later on.
