Fantastic collection of four stunning peonies! These lightly-fragrant, semi-double blooms are splashed with deeper colour at the base of each petal, giving them a truly luxurious appearance. Itoh Peonies combine the exotic looks of tree peonies with the growth habit of herbaceous peonies – meaning that you get the best of both worlds. Flowering from late spring, they're a lovely addition to borders and large containers where they'll attract bees and other beneficial pollinating insects. Supplied as bare root plants.
  • The collection comprises:
  • 'Cora Louise' - white ruffled blooms flushed with lavender at the centre
  • 'Canary Brilliants' - exotic-looking double blooms in a blend of yellow and apricot with a pinky-purple blush on the edges of the petals
  • 'Border Charm' - pale yellow, lightly fragrant, semi-double blooms, splashed with coral at the base of each petal
  • 'Lollipop' - unusual creamy yellow petals striped and flecked with raspberry pink

Culinary note: Petals can be added to salads, or cooked slightly and sweetened for a treat. Blooms can be floated in cocktails and punches to add decoration. Peony water was also once considered a delicacy. For more details about edible flowers, click here.

Caution: All parts of Peonies are harmful if eaten. Grow peonies in sun or semi shade, in well drained soil. Peonies prefer a rich fertile soil, so add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Plant herbaceous peonies at a depth of around 5cm (2”) below the soil surface. Planting too deeply may delay flowering.
Feed and water regularly until peony plants are fully established. Remove faded peony flowers and cut back old foliage in autumn. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant.
