Beautiful and useful, Persicaria amplexicaulis 'JS Caliente' is a refined, clump-forming hardy perennial with none of the thuggish traits of its invasive cousins. Caliente is the Spanish word for hot, describing the deep red colour of its flower spikes, which are produced in profision on upright stems from July to October. A robust and low maintenance Bistort that will flourish almost anywhere in the garden, 'JS Caliente' has broad, bright-green leaves that make great ground cover and suppress weeds. Adaptable and trouble-free, Persicaria amplexicaulis 'JS Caliente' is ideal for mixed borders, cottage gardens and wildlife areas, where it will attract pollinators with its bold red blooms.
