A glamorous foliage plant but one that is dead-easy to look after and great for beginners. Plain green Philodendrons have always been deservedly popular, but Philodendron 'New Red' has transformed this humble houseplant into a stunner! Heart-shaped leaves with maroon undersides float on wine-red stems. Possibly one of the easiest houseplants to grow, Phildodendron is a fast-growing, climbing vine that offers plenty of scope for creative displays as it can be trained to tumble from shelving, cascade from a hanging pot, or climbed up a pole or wires. It is also a great air-purifying plant, filtering out toxins to keep your home or office fresh. Maximum height and spread: 1.2m (4ft).

Grow in average room temperatures of 18C (65F) - 24C (75F). Do not allow temperatures to fall below 12C (55F). Position in bright, indirect light, well away from direct sunlight. Avoid positioning this plant close to cold draughts and radiators.

Water regularly, allowing the top 2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings and ensuring that the root ball does not become saturated. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth.
