Phlox paniculata 'David' is a handsome, perennial Phlox bearing large panicles of elegant white blooms with a heavenly fragrance. A well-known variety that deservedly holds an RHS AGM, ‘David’ is a cottage garden favourite, loved by pollinating insects and a useful plant for wildlife gardens. This vigorous variety puts on strong growth, quickly forming a pleasing clump in moist, sunny borders. A lovely addition to summer bouquets, popular with flower arrangers. Height: 80cm (32"). Spread: 75cm (30").

Culinary information: Some parts of these flowers are edible. Add the small flowers to fruit salads or crystallise them for decorating desserts. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Phlox stems may require staking with garden canes to support their tall stems. Deadhead faded phlox flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, remove old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant in spring.
Plant Phlox in perennial or mixed borders. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position in fertile, moist, well drained soil.
