This pretty little foliage plant is a real show off! Its pink leaves are dotted and spotted with dark green splashes making each one its own masterpiece. Hypoestes phyllostachya is easy to grow and makes a fun introduction to house plants. Commonly known as the Polka Dot Plant, this neat, bushy perennial delivers colour and interest all year round. The foliage is at its best when grown in a bright spot, but take care to avoid scorching sun. Height and spread: 30cm (12").

Grow Hypoestes in bright, filtered light, with protection from scorching sun. Low light levels can cause the foliage to revert to green so filtered light from a south or west facing window is preferable. This plant enjoys normal room temperatures of 18C (65F) - 24C (75F), and moderate humidity.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season to maintain reliably moist soil. Take care to drain plants well after each watering. Reduce watering in winter, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between each watering. Keep Polka Dot plants neat and compact by pinching out the growing tips of the longest stems.
