Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
A familiar silhouette in the UK landscape, this tough conifer is a British native and positively thrives on poorer soils. Pinus sylvestris is better known as the Scots Pine, forming a slender upright trunk with a bushy canopy above. The short needles are dark green, contrasting with the scaly, grey bark of its trunk which becomes more orange towards the crown of the tree. A spectacular specimen tree for a large garden or woodland area. Height: 12m (39’). Spread: 8m (26’).

Grow Pines in any well-drained soil in full sun. Most Pines will tolerate dry conditions and exposed locations once established. Alternatively grow smaller species in large containers, using a good soil-based compost mix.
Once established, Pines require no pruning or maintenance.
