What could be more cheerful than the sunshine yellow flowers of Polyanthus 'Stella Lemon Sherbert'? Masses of golden blooms rise on stiffly upright stems, above a neat rosette of dark foliage every spring. Polyanthus are long lasting, reliable perennials that demand virtually no aftercare whatsoever. Once established, they will gradually multiply to create dense colonies that form excellent ground cover. This brightly coloured variety is perfect for adding spring interest to containers and window boxes. Also ideal for the front of borders, dotted around at the edge of a woodland garden or lining a well-used pathway. Height and spread: 23cm (9").

Flowering Months
Polyanthus make colourful bedding plants, or grow them in containers and borders or in any fertile, moist, well drained soil. Choose a position in full sun or semi shade. During the winter, avoid over watering which may cause the plant to rot in cold conditions. Deadhead faded polyanthus flower stems throughout the flowering period to encourage more blooms to be produced.
Pot up Polyanthus plants and grow them on for transplanting at a later date. Grow plug plants in bright, frost-free conditions, watering sparingly until they are fully rooted in. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise polyanthus plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days, prior to planting out in their final positions.
