Up to 4in double blooms, grey-green leaves and large seed pods for winter decoration.


Culinary note: All poppies are poisonous. However the seeds produced from Papaver somniferum and Papaver paeoniflorum can be eaten and are used for adding extra flavour, crunch and bite to breads and cakes. The seeds of other poppy species are not edible. For more details about edible flowers click here.


1 Packet (1500 Seeds) (26511)

Sow March to April or August to September for overwintering. Optimum Germination Temperature: 60-65F (15-18C). Sowing Depth: 1/16 Inch (1.5mm). Seed should be sown outdoors where it is to flower in spring or autumn and thinned out to 12in (30cm) apart.

Space the plants 30cm (12in) apart in full sun in ordinary garden soil.

Caution: harmful if eaten.

Culinary note: All poppies are poisonous. However, the seeds produced by somniferum and paeoniflorum poppies only can be eaten. Typically, they are used in bakery recipes. For more details about edible flowers click here.
