Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Potentilla ‘Abbotswood' is a compact shrub, covered with 4cm white flowers from late spring onwards, sometimes right through to September. Potentilla are very useful for borders; having a long flowering season and attractive strawberry-like foliage, turning rich red in autumn.

Also known as Cinquefoil, which has may varieties, this must surely be one of the most attractive. Easy to grow, this Potentilla is ideal for both rockeries and cottage gardens and they are often found in parks and landscaped gardens in the UK, confirming what tough, easy yet pretty little shrubs they are. Height: 75cm (30"). Spread: 120cm (60").

Plant Potentilla in a sunny site on any free draining soil. On clay soil, add plenty of coarse grit or sharp sand to improve drainage.
Feed and water Potentilla plants until fully established. Prune Potentilla stems back to within 3cm (1") of the previous year's growth in spring to promote bushy growth and a multitude of flowers the following year.
