Description How to Grow More Info Delivery

Blooming from early summer right through to autumn, the Rudbeckia Summerdaisy Collection produces masses of large, eye-catching flowers on bushy, vigorous and uniform plants. The fiery yellow, orange and red blooms look superb in combination with ornamental grasses or deep purple or blue flowers such as salvias, as well as making a great addition to hot colour schemes. Relatively compact at only 50cm (20in) tall, these easy-to-grow hardy perennials are perfect for borders and container displays. Height and spread: 50cm (20in).

Rudbeckia Summerdaisy’s Collection contains jumbo plug plants of the following varieties:

  • Rudbeckia 'Summerdaisy's Cherry' – cherry red double blooms infused with beautiful pastel shades of peach and apricot
  • Rudbeckia 'Summerdaisy's Double Apricot' – sunny yellow double flowers with contrasting dark centres
  • Rudbeckia 'Summerdaisy's Compact Bicolour' – fiery single flowers with an orange centre radiating out into golden yellow, surrounding a dark central cone. Attractive to bees
  • Rudbeckia 'Summerdaisy's Double Gold' – luxuriously ruffled golden yellow double blooms, with hints of red at the base of the petals
  • Rudbeckia 'Summerdaisy's Yellow' – large, golden yellow single flowers with contrasting dark centres. Attractive to bees.

Pot up rudbeckia plants and grow them on in frost free conditions for transplanting outdoors later on. When plants are well-grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them outdoors in sun or partial shade. Rudbeckia enjoys a fertile, preferably heavy soil that is rich in organic matter and well drained. Coneflowers resent drought and dislike soils that dry out in summer.
Feed and water rudbeckia plants regularly. Deadhead faded rudbeckia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.

Van Meuwen strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.
