The simple outline of Sansevieria masoniana is instantly stylish. It forms a large, single, dark green leaf with paler marbling that resembles a shark’s fin! Its strong sculptural shape makes a great stand-alone statement plant or as part of an arrangement to provide contrast against softer foliage plants. Sansevierias are practically bombproof and perfect for beginners. They readily adapt to low light levels, have low watering requirements and are useful for boosting indoor air quality as they can filter out airborne toxins. Height & spread: 30cm (12in).

Sansevieria is an adaptable plant, growing happily in average room temperatures of 15C (60F) - 24C (75F). It prefers a brightly lit position with some sun and some shade througout the day, however it will tolerate full sun or shade if necessary. Sansevieria even copes well with cold draughts, making it suitable for a well used entrance hall.

Sansevieria is a succulent, storing water in its foliage. Too much water can cause the plant to rot, so it is advisable to allow the soil to dry out somewhat between watering. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth.
