Introduce a pop of cheerful sulphur yellow in your garden with Santolina chamaecyparissus or Cotton Lavender. It's a hardy small shrub that has fine silver fern-type leaves that remain as an evergreen all year round to give a lift to drab winter days. Cotton Lavender is drought tolerant and is very forgiving of neglect and is suitable for all positions in the garden. Because of it's tolerance to drought Santolina is suitable for a Mediterranean theme garden, gravel gardens and patio containers. Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 100cm (39").

Santolina is best grown in light, well-drained soil in full sun.

Trim back Cotton Lavender plants after they have flowered. Prune the stems to within 2.5cm (1") of the previous year's growth to maintain a neat, compact shape.
