Plant out the large plugs when they arrive and look forward to a display of deep burgundy blooms between June and September for many years ahead. They require full sun and are perfect for a cottage garden, cut flower garden or patio position. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 45cm (18"). Supplied as large plug plants.

Flowering Months

Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost 30-45cm (12-18in) apart. For best results, provide a light, well-drained soil in full sun. Over winter September sown plants in a cold frame and plant out the following spring.

Water Scabiosa plants regularly until they are fully established. Cut back faded scabious flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In very well drained, light soils Scabiosa atropurpurea will sometimes over winter for a second year of flowers.

Delivery

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes etc are delivered at the appropriate time for planting and will be stated on the product page or in your order acknowledgement page and email.
