Scabious 'Vivid Violet' is a relatively low-growing variety, with mauve-purple pincushion flowers carried above finely cut foliage. ‘Vivid Violet’ is very free flowering, in bloom from July to September, and more mildew resistant than many other cultivars. Its flowers are a magnet for bees and butterflies, and make a lovely cut flower as well. Its low, mounding habit makes this hardy perennial a welcome addition to rockeries, and the front of sunny borders. Height: 35cm (14"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Plant Scabiosa in any well drained, neutral to alkaline soil. Choose a position in full sun.

Water Scabiosa plants regularly until they are fully established. Cut back faded scabious flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In very well drained, light soils Scabiosa atropurpurea will sometimes over winter for a second year of flowers.

Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
