Grow Persimmon trees in sheltered borders, protected from cold drying winds and hard frosts. Plant them in fertile, moist well drained soil in full sun. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Water well to settle the soil.Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Prune young sharon fruit trees in spring. Reduce stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the framework of the plant. No other pruning is necessary. Persimmon fruits can be harvested from October when they are fully coloured. Ripen them off of the tree at room temperature until they are soft.Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
