Drifts of single flowered snowdrops really lift the spirits on cold winter days! These understated beauties love to nestle in dappled shade at the base of trees, or for a particularly bold impact, try naturalising them an alpine garden or in large informal areas of grass. Why not try them in window boxes and containers as part of a mixed planting scheme. Versatile and vigorous, they will quickly multiply to create a carpet of honey scented single and double-flowered blooms.

Snowdrops in the green are ideal for spring planting as unlike the notoriously difficult to grow dry bulbs in the autumn, these are guaranteed to flower! Growing 'in the green' means planting them when they are still in leaf and is the best way to establish snowdrops. Height: 10cm (4"). Bulb size: 4/5cm. Only cultivated stock used.

Snowdrops particularly dislike dry soil in summer so water regularly during the growing season until bulbs are fully established. When growing snowdrops, it is essential to allow their foliage to die back naturally. Avoid mowing areas of grass where bulbs are naturalised until their foliage has completely died back.
Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten. Snowdrops in the green should be planted in February and March at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Choose a position in dappled shade in reliably moist, well drained soil. Snowdrops prefer a soil rich in organic matter so add some well rotted manure or compost to the soil. Carefully separate the individual bulbs and space them randomly throughout the planting area at a distance of 10cm apart. Plant them as close to their original soil depth as possible, or at a depth of 5cm (2"). The original soil depth can be identified on the leaf stems where the colour changes from white to green. Water regularly until bulbs are fully established.
