Enjoy a year-long menu of your own home-grown fruit puddings and preserves with these bargain soft fruit collections.

Select your favorite desserts from Soft Fruit Collection A or B. Start the season with a February feast of rhubarb crumble with ‘Rhubarb Timperley Early.’ In June enjoy strawberries and cream with Strawberry ‘Cambridge Favourite’ and in July a bowl of summer pudding with Redcurrant ‘Rovada’ and Raspberry 'Autumn Bliss'. Then finish the year with home-made blackcurrant jam harvested from your own Blackcurrant ‘Ebony.’ And when you’ve had your fill of fresh fruit puddings, simply freeze the remainder to enjoy later in the year. This collection of popular varieties is easy to grow and has been specially chosen to provide a long season of heavy fruit crops with excellent flavour.

Soft Fruit Collection B comprises the following:

Blackcurrant ‘Ebony’(1 x bare root plant) - The sweetest blackcurrant ever! An outstanding dessert variety, producing large firm currants up to twice the size of normal blackcurrants and so sweet they can be eaten straight from the bush. Harvest from early to mid-July. Excellent mildew resistance. Height and spread: 120cm (47").

Estimated time to cropping once planted: 16-20 months (4-8 months for cordon plant)
Estimated time to best yields: 16-20 months.

Redcurrant ‘Rovada’ (1 x bare root plant) – Heavy crops of large fruits from mid-July through August, producing up to 2½kg (6lb) from a single plant in a season. Easy to harvest and long cropping season. Height and spread: 120cm (47").

Estimated time to cropping once planted: 4-8 months.
Estimated time to best yields: 28-32 months (16-20 months for premium bare root plant).

Rhubarb ‘Timperley Early’ (1 x bare root plant) - Regarded as the earliest maturing variety, Rhubarb 'Timperley Early' is ideal for forcing to provide tender pink sticks as early as February, but it can also be grown unforced in the normal way. This RHS AGM variety produces a moderate yield of pink stems streaked with apple green. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 120cm (48").

Raspberry 'Autumn Bliss' (3 x bare root plants, Autumn fruiting) -  One of the best and most reliable autumn fruiting varieties, producing a heavy crop of large, attractive red berries from late August until mid-October. Excellent flavour and firm texture, ideal for eating fresh or freezing. The short, sturdy canes are perfect for growing in smaller gardens and containers as they don’t require supports for their stems. British bred variety, with good resistance to raspberry root rot disease. Height: 150cm (59”). Spread: 50cm (20”).

Raspberry 'Cascade Delight' (3 x bare root plants, Summer Fruiting) - an abundance of large, conical berries which are notably larger than traditional varieties. Crops can be harvested from July onwards and keep well after picking. Delicious, sweet flavour and a firm texture, ideal for fresh summer desserts or preserves. Good resistance to root rot, and copes well in wetter soils where other varieties fail to thrive. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Strawberry 'Cambridge Favourite' (6 x bareroot plants) - one of the most well-known and best-loved varieties available. This mid-season strawberry produces a bumper crop of juicy orange-red fruits with an excellent flavour and texture from June to July. This superb variety is reliable and tolerant of most situations. Well suited to growing in containers on a sunny patio. Height: 20cm (8"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Estimated time to cropping once planted: 4-8 months.
Estimated time to best yields: 16-20 months.

All of our raspberries have been inspected by the Ministry of Agriculture for pests and diseases and certified. The bare root plants are hand graded and carefully selected before packing.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
