Pot up Diascia plug plants into 9cm pots and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions for transplanting later on. Water sparingly until plants are fully rooted in. When all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise Twinspur plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant out in containers, beds and borders in any well drained, reliably moist soil in full sun.
Feed and water regularly, particularly during hot periods. Deadhead faded Diascia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Shear leggy stems back to promote further flushes of growth. To over-winter Diascia plants, cover with a thick dry mulch such as bark chips, to help protect them from the worst of the winter weather. Move patio containers to a cool, bright but frost-free position, keeping the compost just moist.
