Trachelospermum jasminoides ‘Pinky Wings’ is a new variety of Star Jasmine which has the same glossy, evergreen foliage of its white blooming counterpart, but which bears a shower of delicate shell-pink flowers with a yellow centre in July and August. The flowers are heavily fragrant, and it is a delightful climber to plant near a seating area where you can enjoy its exotic perfume. When summer is over this twining, woody climber continues to perform with attractive, evergreen foliage which blushes with bronze tones in the winter.

Trachelospermum jasminoides ‘Pinky Wings’ is perfect for any sunny, sheltered position scrambling up walls, over pergolas or trellis. It is also suitable for container growing on a sunny patio. Height and spread: 3m (10’).

Grow star jasmine plants in frost-free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When they are well grown, plant Trachelospermum jasminoides in fertile, well drained soil in sun or semi-shade. Choose a sheltered position that is protected from cold winter winds. In particularly cold areas, Trachelospermum jasminoides is best grown in patio containers of loam based compost, such as John Innes No.2, that can be moved to a protected position over winter. Provide the twining stems with an appropriate support such as trellis, wires or a free standing climbing frame.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. After flowering, reduce the stems to restrict them to the available space. Caution: The milky sap of trachelospermum is an irritant to skin and eyes Caution: irritant to skin and eyes
