The Speedwell is a highly reliable hardy perennial and this particular variety, Veronica longifolia 'Candied Candle', is resilient and untroubled by inclement weather. Clothed in wonderful pink-lilac flower spires in later summer, the profuse blooms appear above dark foliage, making a striking contrast. Veronica is easy-to-care-for and establishes quickly, creating an excellent groundcover. The flowers attract butterflies and other insects, thereby improving the biodiversity within a garden. Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Grow Veronica in a sunny or semi shaded position in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Veronica prefers a fertile, humous rich soil so work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded veronica flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut back old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
