Flowering Months
Water Vinca plants frequently until fully established. Once established, periwinkle plants require little attention. Prune periwinkle in spring by cutting back hard to restrict growth.
Pot up and grow periwinkle plants on in warm frost-free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When plants are well grown, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7-10 days. Grow Vinca in borders, woodland gardens or on banks as ground cover, in any moist, well-drained soil which does not dry out. They cope particularly well with clay soils. Periwinkles are versatile plants and will happily grow in full sun, partial shade or full shade, although flowering will be better in sun.
