Weigela are deservedly popular for their rounded habits, foliage and abundance of red, pink or cream tubular flowers in April and May. These hardy deciduous shrubs bring a splash of colour to mixed borders, woodland gardens, and containers and the flowers are also attractive to bees. Versatile and easy to grow, weigela shrubs also make a colourful low maintenance hedge. Supplied in 9cm pots.

Collection comprises:

  • Weigela 'All Summer Red' – If you're looking for a real eye-catching and striking plant that lasts for a long period of time, with lush funnel shaped red flowers look no further. Height and spread: 75cm (30'').
  • Weigela 'Monet' - Has a compact, mounding habit that is perfect for smaller gardens. From late spring, the soft pink flowers complement the variegated foliage which is edged in pink and cream.  Height and spread: 60cm (24'').
  • Weigela 'Mango' - Open clusters of bell shaped creamy-yellow flowers with a bold orange throat will create a striking spring statement in your garden. Height and spread: 1m (39'').

Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
