A dense growth habit means that the narrow, leathery, dark green leaves form an very effective barrier or windbreak and is tolerant to dry soils or adverse growing conditions. Male plants produce yellow cones in spring and female plants produce red, cup shaped, non edible fruits.

Caution: Harmful if eaten. Grow honeysuckle in sunny or semi shaded sites in any moist, well drained soil. Prior to planting add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil. Be sure to provide the twining stems with an appropriate support, such as trellis or wires attached to fences and pergolas. Alternatively grow honeysuckle through shrubs and trees.
Grow Yew trees in any well drained, fertile soil. Taxus is versatile and will happily grow on acid or alkaline soils. It will grow thrive in almost any position from full sun to deep shade.
Feed and water regularly until yew trees are fully established. Yew may be left unpruned to form a handsome tree, or pruned in summer and early autumn to create a dense, evergreen hedge.
