Trumpet Vine

This hardy, deciduous shrub bears showy, rich golden-yellow, trumpet-shaped flowers from spring to autumn, against a backdrop of mid-green tooth-shaped foliage. 'Summer Jazz Gold' is compact and less vigorous than other varieties of the Trumpet Vine and is an ideal choice for training up a small trellis or garden wall. Height & Spread: 1.5m (5'). Grasses 'Gold, Black and Red Collection'

Lilyturf, Black Mondo, Red Hook Sedge

Although not true grasses, these evergreen hardy perennials will provide colourful grass-like foliage all year round. Neat clumps of linear leaves give an architectural presence in containers, at the front of borders or dotted throughout rockeries. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 40cm (16"). Supplied in 9cm pots.

Tree Fern, Australian Tree Fern

Dicksonia antarctica

The Australian Tree Fern makes an extraordinary sight! Long, finely cut fronds of up to 1.5m (5’) unfurl from the crown in a truly magnificent display that adds drama to damp, shaded areas of the garden. Native to Australia, Dicksonia antarctica is hardy to around -5°C (23°F) and thrives in the relatively mild, wet climate of the UK. This slow growing RHS AGM species forms only 3cm of trunk per year, taking many years to reach its ultimate height of around 4m. A truly exciting addition to a sheltered garden and perfect for woodland areas and exotic borders. Supplied in 2 litre pot or as a 90cm (3ft) trunk. Height and spread: 4m (13’).

Campsis x tagliabuana 'Madame Galen' is a remarkable, fast-growing climber, producing striking trumpet-shaped flowers during late summer. This plant may appear tropical but it is actually hardy in the UK and easy to grow.

Trumpet Vine is an impressive climbing plant and once established, will thrive on neglect, so it is perfect for lazy or busy gardeners. Campsis is an ideal choice to cover walls and fences and it climbs by aerial roots, sometimes reaching up to 12m (39') tall! An alternative option is to grow Campsis 'Madame Galen' in large patio containers. Height: up to 12m (39’). Spread: 3m (9.8’).

Dierama 'Blackberry Bells'

Dierama is a very graceful hardy perennial which makes a beautiful addition to cottage garden borders. It is oten referred to as Angel's Fishing Rod and looks particularly attractive when overhanging water. The slender stems arch and tremble in the breeze, adding movement and fluidity to planting schemes. 'Blackberry Bells' bears clusters of delicate, deep purple-pink, bell-shaped flowers which rise above clumps of slender, semi-evergreen, grass-like foliage in July, followed by attractive seedheads in late summer. Blechnum brasiliense 'Volcano'

Dwarf Brazilian Tree Fern, Hard Fern

If you like Dicksonia tree ferns but find them too large or expensive, why not try this new alternative? This dwarf Brazilian tree fern has only recently been introduced to the UK and is sure to be the next big thing for the home gardener. The compact plants are ideal for patio pots and thrive in low light, so they're great for giving an exotic touch to your garden. Young fronds unfurl in a bronze shade, turning shiny green as they open and and reach up to 70cm (28") tall. This fern will gradually form a small trunk, reaching around 30cm tall in 10 years. Although tropical in origin, Blechnum brasiliense is hardy enough to grow in most areas of the UK gardens, tolerating temperatures as low as -5C (23F) but will it will appreciate a sheltered spot and some protection in winter.
