Tree Fern, Australian Tree Fern

Dicksonia antarctica

The Australian Tree Fern makes an extraordinary sight! Long, finely cut fronds of up to 1.5m (5’) unfurl from the crown in a truly magnificent display that adds drama to damp, shaded areas of the garden. Native to Australia, Dicksonia antarctica is hardy to around -5°C (23°F) and thrives in the relatively mild, wet climate of the UK. This slow growing RHS AGM species forms only 3cm of trunk per year, taking many years to reach its ultimate height of around 4m. A truly exciting addition to a sheltered garden and perfect for woodland areas and exotic borders. Supplied in 2 litre pot or as a 90cm (3ft) trunk. Height and spread: 4m (13’).

Heuchera 'Super-Six Collection'

Coral Flower, Coral Bells

Treasured for their stunning foliage, these Heucheras are some of the most vibrant we've seen yet! Including pinks, oranges, greens and purples these lively semi-evergreen perennials will ignite your garden all year round. From May to July these varieties all produce sprays of dainty flowers on tall wiry stems, which are particularly attractive to bees. Grow Heuchera 'Super-Six Collection' in containers, borders or planted in drifts as ground cover. Height and spread: 45cm (18"). Supplied as plug plants.

Prized for their outstanding foliage, these charming semi-evergreen perennials are superb for containers, the front of borders, or planted in bold drifts as ground cover. Phoenix Palm

Phoenix canariensis, Canary Island Date Palm

For instant impact on your patio and a touch of the exotic, try the Canary Island date palm, winner of an RHS Award of Garden Merit. Architectural, broadly arching leaves consisting of many leaflets are borne gracefully from a stout columnar trunk. These mature plants are supplied at a height of 60-70cm (24-28") ready for an instant display in your garden! Phoenix canariensis is ideal for conservatories and perfect in patio containers which can be moved to a frost-free position over winter. In mild areas the Canary date palm may be grown in sheltered borders outdoors where it will tolerate temperatures down to -8°C (18°F). Height: 1.5m (5') when restricted in containers. If grown naturally in borders this palm can reach 5m (16') height and 3m (10') spread. Supplied in a 1 litre pot. Ceramic pot not included.

Shuttlecock Fern

Matteuccia struthiopteris, Ostrich Fern

A hardy deciduous fern producing elegant lime green fronds which unfurl gracefully in spring, giving the plant a shuttlecock-like appearance. Easy to grow and awarded an RHS AGM, the shuttlecock fern makes a fabulous architectural addition to borders, woodland gardens and the edges of ponds. Growing best in moist shady areas, this large fern, also known as the ostrich fern, is superb for tricky damp areas of the garden and is incredibly low-maintenance. Slowly spreading by underground rhizomes, Matteuccia struthiopteris is also a good groundcover plant. Height: 1.2m (4'). Spread: 1m (3'). Supplied in a 9cm pot.
